Afghanistan has GSM and therefore I wanted to be able to use the phone there as well as on Verizon without paying the exorbitant monthly and per minute fees that they require however Verizon told me I had to wait 90 days to unlock. For 22 dollars you can't beat it when that gives me the ability to call back to the states with my Roshan or AWCC SIM for only 35 cents per minute rather than 3 dollars per minute plus the monthly with Verizon!
