Carrier Branded BlackBerry Style cannot be Unlocked
In response to many e-mails we’ve been getting about unlocking the BlackBerry Style, I’d like to answer this question for everyone searching for it.
In short, the BlackBerry Style locked to Bell, Sprint or any other known carrier at this time cannot be unlocked. The reason is because the Style 9670 was designed for exclusive CDMA use. It operates on the EVDO network which is exclusive to CDMA network carriers. This means that there is no SIM card slot. Without a SIM card slot, you will not be able to use GSM technology.
So if you’re one of those people looking to use the Style for International use, you’re out of luck for now. Hopefully this will answer the thousands of people looking for this answer!
