How to Unlock BlackBerry Curve 8900 with Unlock Code
You know what they say. An oldie but a goodie! Everywhere I go, I still see people rocking the BlackBerry Curve 8900. Some people refuse to get away from it because they’ve become so comfortable with it and can’t imagine going to the newer track pads. When this phone was released, it was one of the hottest phones to unlock. The good news is that you can unlock BlackBerry Curve 8900. The curve 8900 was initially code-named the Javelin, but it seems to have lost that name.
Without further adieu, below are the steps to unlock your BlackBerry Curve 8900. Nothing too crazy and it doesn’t fall off the same method that BlackBerries continue to follow with the unlocking process.
1.) Insert a SIM card. If you don’t have one, you should be able to unlock it still!
2.) Navigate to the options menu – symbolized by a picture of a wrench.
3.) Go to advanced options (assuming you are operating on OS 5.0 or less)
4.) Go to SIM card
5.) Type in the letters M E P D. You won’t see the letters appear, but you’ll see the new personalization menu. If everything says “disabled”, it means that your phone is already unlocked. If it says “Active” it means that your phone is locked.
6.) Type in the letters M E P [alt] 2. You’ll receive a prompt that says “Enter Network MEP Code (# Left)”. The # represents the number of attempts you have left before your phone will be permanently locked to its original network carrier. If it says 0 Left, do not proceed to buy the unlock code as it will not work in your phone.
7.) If you have more than 0 left, go ahead and purchase your BlackBerry Curve 8900 unlock code from our unlocking store.
8.) Enter in that unlock code and press enter.
9.) You will receive a “Code Accepted” message which means that your phone is unlocked.
And just like that, you’ve got your good old Curve 8900 unlocked and ready to use on the GSM carrier of your choice!
