Unlocking a Bell BlackBerry Bold 9700 is not much more difficult than unlocking any other BlackBerry smart phone. For anyone who has unlocked a BlackBerry before, you know that you need the Network MEP Code (MEP2) code to unlock the phone. The BlackBerry Bold 9700 locked to Bell also requires that MEP2 code, but it also requires an additional code called the Service Provider Code (MEP4). We’ve been able to create a simple tutorial for unlocking the BlackBerry Bold 9700 locked specifically to Bell Mobility in Canada. For those that prefer written instructions, we’ve written them below for your convenience. Get your Bell BlackBerry Bold 9700 unlock code first from our unlock code store and then follow these instructions below. The instructions will vary depending on the operating system your phone is running on.  First we will tell you how to do it on OS 6.0 and greater and then on OS 5.0 and lower.

OS 6.0
1.) Insert any SIM card into the phone
2.) Go to options and then device
3.) Go to advanced system settings and then to SIM card
4.) Type in the letters MEPD. This will bring up the personalization menu. If your Bell BlackBerry Bold 9700 is locked, you will notice that both the Network and Service Provider categories are both set to active.  Now it’s time to perform the magic!
5.) Type in MEP [alt] 2. You will be prompted to enter in the Network MEP Code. This would be the MEP2 code that we provide.
6.) Enter in the MEP2 code that we provide and then press enter.  You should receive a code accepted message.
7.) Now type in MEP [alt] 4. You will be asked to enter in the Service Provider MEP Code.
8.) Enter in the MEP4 code that we provide.
9.) Press enter and you will see the code accepted message again.
